DADA - DEVELOPING A DIGITAL ACADEMY
Staatliches Schulamt Nürnberger Land
There is a state education authority in every district and in every independent city in the Free State of Bavaria. The state education authority in the district of Nürnberger Land (Staatliches Schulamt im Landkreis Nürnberger Land, Feucht, Germany) has a
whole range of organizational and school supervisory tasks. The facility assumes responsibility for 38 primary and secondary schools with a total of around 9000 students and around 900 teachers. The school councils get a concrete picture of the school and lesson-related processes through visits to the schools. They analyze and discuss with the schools the results of their observations, the cross-school performance assessments (e.g. comparative work, final exams), the data on school careers (e.g. repeaters, degrees) and agree with the schools, if necessary, on goals for optimization. Suitable measures of a continuous optimization process are the needs-oriented further training of the teachers, the targeted use of the specialist
advisors, discussions and consultations with the teachers, target agreements and the development of a systematic feedback culture.
State school supervision includes the planning and organization of the teaching system, the assurance of the quality of education and instruction, the promotion and advice of the schools, the supervision of the internal and external school conditions as well as the school management and the educational staff. Our facility tries to strengthen and support promising initiatives in schools, picks up on undesirable developments and works preventively with the schools on emerging problems. We promote internal school development and ensure that valuable best practice examples are transferred to other schools.
In addition, it also has the important and central task of offering and organizing coordinated system-related, educational and psychological advisory services and regional training. Advice and training are based on the specific needs of the respective school and are geared towards relevant key issues. Digital education in schools is currently the aspect of continuing education that is most in demand by schools and their teachers.
