Geschwister-Scholl-Mittelschule
The Geschwister-Scholl-Mittelschule in Röthenbach comprises a total of 25 classes with 530 students and 55 active teachers. The school was completely renovated or partly rebuilt in 2015-2020 and is therefore well prepared for its future tasks. In addition to the regular classes, we offer a variety of other class types that address the individual abilities and skills of our students and lead them to the qualifying degree of middle school or middle school.Our catchment area includes the villages of Diepersdorf / Leinburg, Schwaig / Behringersdorf, Rückersdorf and Röthenbach. Together these localities form the school district. All students from the mentioned catchment areas meet in our school after primary school. Schoolchildren with a migration and / or refugee background are linguistically and integratively supported in special D-classes by trained teachers and prepared for regular lessons.
Geschwister-Scholl-Mittelschule is the only middle school in the district with the inclusion school profile. This means that colleagues at our school with special training take care of the schooling of pupils with inclusion needs. The school is continuously developing a media concept to further develop the method and media curriculum. The current state of the media equipment is permanently adapted to the future. New acquisitions are discussed, assigned to the respective subjects and implemented in a process-oriented manner through development talks, stocktaking and networking options. At the school, a system supervisor takes care of the IT equipment. The school is currently equipped with 145 PCs, 80 laptops in special mobile carts, 35 active touchboards with whiteboard wings and 35 desktop cameras. In addition, there are 100 rental laptops that were given to students in need during the corona pandemic. The school is currently working successfully with the Microsoft 365 software solution. Teachers as well as students have a Pro license with which they can access the entire range of offices. The collaborative solution MS-Teams enables direct exchange between teachers and students and connects new digital teaching content such as computer science or robotics. Schoolchildren benefit from the cloud-based method and learn the features of web design (MS-Sway), programming (Scratch, PowerApps), IT security (secure passwords) and handling IT objects.
In the future, the school should benefit from the "bring your own device" method. In this regard, the active boards will be midified with screencast options and the WiFi network will be expanded based on speed.
